Course Length: 1.0 contact hours
PRIMARY Presentation Category: Community-based Intended Audience: Introductory
Short Abstract:
This is a panel discussion where members of the IOTA executive board will be able to share their “why” with general membership. The session will allow for individual networking.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the primary responsibilities and expectations of executive board positions within the state occupational therapy association.
- Identify professional and personal benefits of serving in a leadership role within a professional association in order to develop a personal action plan for becoming involved.
- Compare board positions to determine which leadership opportunities best align with their interests, experience, and career goals.
Educational Value:
Professional boards require participation from their members in order to be effective. Many OT practitioners discount their time and talents in regard to serving. This presentation will help members see how they can contribute.
