Legislative and Reimbursement Chair Position

by | Jan 3, 2018 | IOTA, Legislation

Please help us welcome Jessie Given, COTA/L, to the IOTA Executive Board. Jessie will serve as the Legislative and Reimbursement Chair. We are excited to have her join us!

“Hello, I’m Jessie Given! I graduated from Brown Mackie College in 2014. I am a certified occupational therapist assistant and have worked at a pediatric sensory integration clinic, The Children’s Therapy and Learning Center, in Eagle, Idaho, for the past two years. I provide therapeutic, skilled, and evidence-based treatment intervention to children with a variety of complex diagnoses, ranging from 2 to 17 years.

I have taken several continuing educational courses that have enhanced my ability to serve and assist my clients and their families in reaching their goals and in optimizing their level of function. Some of these courses include Handwriting Without Tears, Bal-A-Vis-X, Balanced and Barefoot, Smart but Scattered, and Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder. I am also currently working on becoming certified as an autism specialist.

I am passionate and driven to advocate for our profession in the state of Idaho and feel that IOTA needs to be a strong voice in educating the public as to the importance of the services occupational therapy practitioners provide, as well as to defend and to protect against infringements to our scope of practice.

I hope to be instrumental in providing a source of current and up-to-date information to help bridge the gap between Idaho’s OT practitioners, other disciplines, legislative boards, and payors.”

Thank you for your service, Jessie!
