As we head into November, I wanted to take a minute to update you regarding work the AOTA Representative Assembly (RA) has been completing. The RA was divided into three task groups this fall to review many items including those related to the role of OT in reproductive health and pelvic health, policies related to school-based practice and workload, and a request for action affirming the occupational impact of being Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). More information can be found on CommunOT.
The RA will be holding a listening session on November 8th at 6pm MST for AOTA members to provide feedback on any of the items the RA has been reviewing. Pre-registration for the listening session is required and can be completed using this link. Feedback gathered in this listening session will inform the RA fall general meeting on November 15th.
For more information about the RA, my role, or if you would like to request the RA review additional topics, please feel free to reach out to me at IDRep@ra.aota.org I look forward to representing you over the next few years. Thank you for your membership to IOTA and AOTA.
