2025 OT Month IOTA District Celebrations Recap

This year’s OT month depicted a thrilling display of what our passionate OTs are up to across the state of Idaho. We’d like to thank all IOTA representatives and practitioners who were involved in each event that not only promoted social opportunities, but further fortified our relevance across communities.
IOTA Magic Valley “Move for Mobility” Event 2025
In early May, students and practitioners participated in the IOTA’s Magic Valley “Move for Mobility” Event in Twin Falls, ID. Nette Miller, our South Central District Representative, steered many moving pieces to bring the Free Wheelchair Mission to Magic Valley. With the help and collaboration from George Hage and Dana Hinderman, the event raised $640 which covers 6 wheelchairs!
IOTA “Move for Mobility” Event Southwest District
Just across the pond, IOTA’s Southwest district also hosted the “Move for Mobility” event in Boise, ID on April 11th. District representative Hilary Sauder, IOTA President Megan Doyle, and ISU Occupational Therapy students collaborated to bring the Free Wheelchair Mission to the area to raise funds for individuals with disabilities in developing countries. With the help of Amy Haynes, our ISU professor who spearheaded the 5k at Payette Brewing Company, the event attracted 65 participants resulting in 5k funds. As a result, over 100 recipients will be given free wheelchairs!
IOTA East District OT Month Paint n’ Sip
The East District hosted a Paint n’ Sip activity in Blackfoot this April to celebrate our amazing profession for OT Month. Joined by Emily Heston, COTA/L and Katie Fisher OTR/L, IOTA East District Rep. Meredith Chandler taught a short, therapeutic painting activity which made for excellent conversation and fostered new friendships.
