2017 IOTA Annual Conference = SUCCESS!
In September, the 2017 IOTA Annual Conference was pulled together in a time of grief, as long-time IOTA CE chair Becki Stephens passed away just weeks before the conference. A saddened but passionate IOTA board and committee members came together, along with OTR/OTA volunteers to continue Becki’s efforts to provide quality, local CE opportunities.
These grassroots efforts resulted in a full day of inspiration, networking, and knowledge for the 100+ attendees. The conference began Friday night with an opening reception with AOTA President, Amy Lamb OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA.. The following morning, attendees were lucky to listen to a highly motivational keynote presentation by Amy Lamb. The conference continued with a variety of topics for both adult/pediatric OT practitioners presented by OTR/OTA experts from around the state and other professionals. The attendees were provided with new, evidence-based knowledge, assessment and treatment ideas, access to 10 local vendors and opportunities to network with colleagues.
IOTA is currently in the planning phase for the 2018 IOTA Annual Conference and information will be coming in Spring of 2018. If you have ideas and/or recommendations for possible presenters or topics for the 2018 IOTA Annual Conference please contact the IOTA CE chair, Kim Hendrickson at firstname.lastname@example.org by March 1, 2018.
